Smithers RCMP are asking for public assistance in identifying a robbery suspect.
Early Thursday morning, an unknown individual entered and robbed the Chevron gas station on Highway 16, near the Safeway.
During the robbery, the man, whose face was covered by a hood, reportedly gestured that he was armed.
After swiping a small quantity of cash, lottery tickets, and chocolate bars, the suspect fled on foot across the parking lot, toward Princess Crescent.
An officer quickly responded to the report, but was unable to locate the robber.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5 feet, 6 inches, with blue eyes.
