Improved security and safety are on the way for downtown Terrace thanks to a new-for-2019 grant program.
Development Services have provided the City with the final draft of the 2019 Downtown Safety and Security Improvement Grant Program.
Under the program, downtown businesses will be able to apply for up to one thousand dollars in funding to cover 50 percent of project costs.
Eligible projects include any which proactively deter criminal activity, including but not limited to: window bars or glazing, gates, security lighting, fencing, alarm systems, and more.
City Council allocated 10 thousand dollars in funding for the program in their 2019 budget.
Businesses will have until May 15th to apply for funding for projects with a completion date no later than December 31st, 2019.
