A 6.1 magnitude earthquake near the southern coast of Alaska yesterday evening is not prompting tsunami warnings for BC.
The earthquake, roughly 80 kms from the shore near Cold Bay, was measured at 27 kms deep.
Emergency BC notified residents within two hours that BC residents need not worry about tsunami risks or aftershock threats.
