November saw the continuation of a grim trend as the number of drug overdose deaths in BC continued to climb.
According to the BC Coroners’ Service’s November report, 120 people died last month as the result of suspected overdoses, 13 percent more than the same month last year.
Most of the deaths were men aged 30 to 59, and most occurred indoors, according to the report.
Through November, the province has seen 1,380 overdose related deaths in 2018.
That number is almost precisely on par with the 2017 figures.
In total, 1,486 people died from drug overdoses in BC last year.
