Numerous attempts to cash stolen cheques in the area have RCMP warning businesses in Terrace to be warry.
During the past couple of weeks, a number of businesses in the area have had cheques stolen from them.
In the same time period, police have thwarted efforts of individuals to cash or spend at least 4 of these cheques.
On Wednesday, police made one arrest after a man attempted to spend a cheque stolen from the Northwest Zone Athletic Association.
Last week, officers arrested Roderick Nellis Maxwell after he broke in to a business on the 4500 block of Park Avenue and made off with a number of cheques.
Terrace RCMP say they are aware of a number of these stolen or fraudulent cheques still circulating, and are urging businesses to exercise caution when accepting any cheques.
