Tania Vance

I am Tahltan and Southern Tutchone.  I am born and raised in Terrace, BC and have a deep connection to the community.  I have worked at CFNR Network since 2004 and have and have been involved in almost every facet of the station over the years.  I have been doing Voice Over work since the beginning as well.  I have done hundreds of radio commercials and have been told many times that I have talent for Voice Over.  Some of the voice work I have done has been corporate national clients, as well as the voice for CFNR Network.  I love the work and look forward to doing much more in the future.

Char Normandeau

Born in Terrace, Char returned to Northern BC to connect with her Gitxsan culture after more than a decade working in radio in various small, medium and major market radio stations as both an on-air host and Voice Actor. She is bilingual, with French as her second language and also has experience with acting both on camera and the stage. Her varied background in both radio and as an actor enable her to bring your script to life, to help you execute your marketing vision successfully.

Ashley Pimlott

Ashley is from the Xwémalhkwu (Homalco) First Nation, but was born and raised on traditional unceded Tsimshian Territory in beautiful Terrace, BC.

After completing Broadcast training with TRICORP and Canada’s First Nations Radio, she secured a position here at CFNR; and recently became the Good Medicine Show host for Vancouver’s Urban Indigenous Radio Station 106.3 FM The Journey. She hopes to use her voice as an avenue to reclaim and advocate for First Nations culture.

Previously, Ashley was Valedictorian of her graduating class. Represented Northern and rural BC communities in the Regional Vancouver Citizens Dialogue for the Future of Canadas Energy; and also for all BC and Northern Territories in the respective National Winnipeg Energy Conference.

She is also is a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys guitar, piano, and percussion.
Her guitar ensemble won 1st place in the Northwest Music Festival.
She and her daughter appreciate and participate in local Theatre productions.

As a Gemini, Ashley is uniquely the best of both worlds – soft, gentle and kind; yet outgoing, animated and edgy!
She leans towards humor and drama as a professional voice over talent.

Chad Wells

Chad is a graduate of our Radio Boot Camp training program we held at CFNR. We had our eye on Chad from when he first applied to the training and was hired right after the training finished. With a warm style, Chad will bring conversational and humour tones (if you ask!) to your project.

Willis Parnell

Willis’ smooth tone is one you need to hear. From Haida Gwaii, Willis is also a high-level basketball player, and Hall of Famer All Native Basketball Tournament inductee. He is also one of our Basketball Announcers here at CFNR, but has launched himself into the world of voiceover.

Morgyn Budden

I’m from the Kitsumkalum Tsimshian community. Although I do not have extensive experience in voice-overs, I have recently become the afternoon news reporter covering from 12 pm to 6 pm. Even though I’m not fluent in Smalgyax or other traditional languages, I’m always willing to learn.

Yulanda Leighton

Yulanda is a CFNR vet, and knows her way around a microphone. You might find her trying to interest you in advertising, so she will bring her approachability and professionalism to your project. Yulanda is a proud Haida.

Tewanee Joseph

A member of the Squamish First Nation, Tewanee Joseph has a tremendous amount of experience in several fields. He is an experienced MC, spokesperson, liaison and consultant. He is an excellent presenter and speaker, comfortable on camera as well as on a microphone.

He is currently the host of a weekly radio show on the airwaves of Vancouver on CJNY 106.3 The Journey.

His experience includes being the CEO of the Four Host First Nations Secretariat, where he focused a tremendous spotlight on B.C.’s and Canada’s Aboriginal Peoples on the international stage of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Ray Thunderchild

Actor, drummer, and singer, Ray is a member of the Cree Nation but calls the West Coast home now.

Ray is the voice of both CFNR and CJNY 106.3fm The Journey, adding to his career both on-camera and on a microphone. His traditional singing needs no microphone as Ray has tremendous pipes, and a treat to hear in person.

He also works behind the scenes in the film industry, translating Hollywood movies into the Cree language.
