IIO Investigating After Man Enters Medical Distress While in the Custody of Williams Lake RCMP

BC’s Independent Investigations Office is looking into an incident in Williams Lake which saw a man in police custody rushed to hospital.

While RCMP have not released a reason, the man was arrested and lodged in cells at the detachment on November 13th.

At around 7:35 on November 15th, while still in police custody, the man was found to be in medical distress and was transported to hospital.

Now, the IIO are investigating in an attempt to determine what role, if any, police actions played in the man’s condition.
