Heat warnings and thunderstorm watches are in place across sections of the Northcoast and Cariboo, as wildfire activity continues to flare.
Inland sections of the North and Central Coast are under a heat warning, with daytime temperatures hitting as high as 28 degrees near Terrace, Kitimat, and Bella Coola.
With temperatures this high, the risk of heat-related illnesses is elevated, especially for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses.
Residents are advised to get plenty of water, avoid alcohol and strenuous activities, and to prepare a heat plan with locations to cool down both in the home and community.
Environment Canada expects temperatures to begin cooling down overnight.
Meanwhile, a sever thunderstorm watch has been issued for sections of the Cariboo near Quesnel and Williams Lake.
Strong winds and heavy downpours are expected to accompany lightning bursts, and residents are advised to remain indoors as much as possible.
With lightning being the cause of most wildfires burning in the province, residents are reminded to call 1 800 663 5555 to report any new wildfire activity.
