Announced earlier today, monkeypox vaccines are soon going to be made available to BC Residents.
A public health emergency of international concern regarding this disease was declared back on July 23rd by the World Health Organization.
Ever since this disease started becoming a worldwide problem, BC has been working with other Canadian jurisdictions as well as the Public Health Agency of Canada to co-ordinate their approach to this outbreak.
When it comes to cases of monkeypox in BC, there have been 61 total cases, with only 3 Fraser Health cases and none in either Interior Health and Northern Health.
So far, the Province has gotten 14,480 doses of the vaccine for outbreak control and every dose is distributed to health authorities for administration.
