Back on July 16th, Dawson Creek RCMP responded to shots being fired at a residence which eventually lead to a chase and then arrest.
On Saturday at 2 PM, Police got a call about shots being fired from a vehicle at a residence in the area of 118th Avenue and 12th Street.
This vehicle was believed to have had 4 people in it but it was found not far away from the scene with one male in the driver’s seat.
Police made an attempt to stop the vehicle but it drove away at high speeds which then lead to police vehicles pursuing it.
Not long after the pursuit began, the vehicle became immobilized after trying to cross the train tracks just north of 15th Street and Alaska Avenue, which resulted in the driver fleeing on foot.
The driver was eventually located and then arrested on a number of outstanding warrants as well as new charges.
Despite the arrest, the investigation is still on-going with Police believing that there are three other suspects involved in the shooting, which the police believe was targeted and therefore, presents no public threat.
For those that have surveillance or dash camera footage that may have captured the initial shooting in the area of 118th Avenue and 12th Street, you are asked to contact Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700.
