An agreement between the Province of BC and the Gyeonggi Province in South Korea has officially been signed and recently announced publicly.
This agreement, known as the BC-South Korean Province Sign Action Plan, is expected to support mutual economic growth for both provinces as well as make more opportunities for businesses and people in BC.
Another reason for the agreement from BC’s side of things is to continue making progress on both the StrongerBC Economic Plan and B.C.’s Trade Diversification Strategy.
This is the 4th time that an action plan agreement has been signed between the two provinces, who have been linked as sister provinces since 2008, and this plan will focus on six main areas of exchanges and co-operation.
Those areas are disaster response and safety, education, trade and economy, sports, workforce development and lastly, culture and arts.
The plan will also provide a framework for the provinces to help out one another’s economy as both focus on recovering from the pandemic.
