Williams Lake First Nation Chief Willie Sellars has been acclaimed, despite Nation members not hitting the poles until next month.
Last week, the Nation announced the nominees for their Chief and Council elections, slated for August 18th.
Despite receiving 14 nominations for the two open councillor spots, just 8 of the nominees accepted their nomination.
Initially, two candidates had accepted their nomination to run for the Chief spot, but Willie Alphonse Jr would later drop out.
That left incumbent Chief Willie Sellars as the only confirmed candidate, meaning he will be acclaimed to serve his second four-year term.
