According to a recently released survey, many BC residents are having at least some concerns about staffing at BC provincial parks this summer.
At least 82 percent of respondents on the survey are expecting the parks to be busier than the previous two years.
Some of the biggest concerns about the parks residents listed include park rules not being enforced, inadequate parking, and a lack of proper staffing.
The staffing worries with the parks may relate back to the budget for Canada’s national parks and historic sites being cut by two-thirds this year.
The survey also pointed out that over 93 percent of participants thought the parks are very important for protecting nature in BC.
The BC Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society conducted the survey and it saw 905 BC residents take part in it.
