A faculty member of the UNBC and UBC Northern Medical Program has been recognized with a top level award for post-secondary teaching.
Dr. Sean Maurice has become only one of ten educators this year to get the 3M National Teaching Fellowship.
And as a result, he was celebrated for picking up this award, along with the other winners while at the STLHE Annual Conference held in Ottawa.
Part of the reasoning for Maurice’s win was due to him incorporating a philosophy of adventure into his lessons, which led to his students having a greater enthusiasm for learning.
The Fellowship award was created all the way back in 1986 to shine a light on Canada’s best educators at post-secondary schools.
