In order to help BC communities preserve their documentary heritage, Library and Archives Canada is going to be giving out funding for 7 local projects in the BC area.
This funding will be given out as a part of the Documentary Heritage Communities Program.
Some of the most notable projects receiving funding include Chilliwack getting $50,000 for preserving the archives of the Stó:lo Nation and Lake Cowichan getting $31,492 to make sure that access to the Forest Industry Documentary Heritage is facilitated.
Ever since the start of 2015, Library and Archives Canada has been giving out $1.5 million annually for the sake of promoting heritage organizations all over the country.
