In honor of National Nurses week and Indigenous Nurses Day, Indigenous Services Canada has announced the 2022 winners of the Awards of Excellence in Nursing.
The people receiving one of these awards are defined as having demonstrated the highest degree of commitment to their practice by being compassionate as well as displaying great initiative.
This year’s winners include Lee Ann Sock from the Elsipogtog First Nation, Hannah Gray from the Sandy Lake First Nation, Alexa Bisaillon from the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw First Nation and Elizabeth Oguntuase from Qikiqtarjuaq.
Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu also gave her thanks to these nurses for their services.
