A number of northern organizations are among 84 province-wide benefiting from $4 million in fresh grant funding.
Funds will come from the BC Arts Council’s Art Infrastructure Program, which provides funding to help develop and enhance art and culture spaces.
Eligible projects include those focused on planning and consultation, capital and safety improvements, increasing accessibility, or buying equipment.
In an effort to increase equity and diversity, 50 percent of the projects funded are from rural or remote communities, or are lead by Indigenous and equity-seeking groups.
Some of the organizations receiving funding in the north include: the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum, Omineca Arts Centre in Prince George, and the Prince George Potters’ Guild.
