Premier John Horgan has announced a few changes to his cabinet, prompted by the creation of a new ministry.
Last week, the province announced the establishment of the new Ministry of Land, Water, and Resource Stewardship.
This morning, Horgan joined the house to announce the resulting cabinet changes, as well as to swear-in the new ministers.
Mid Island- Pacific Rim MLA Josie Osborne will head the new Ministry, while Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen will shift to a new role as Minister of Municipal Affairs.
In her new role, Osborne will work with First Nations, local communities, and industry to create a shared vision for land and resource management.
Cullen will work with local governments to address their priorities, respond to community-level challenges, and support their Covid-19 recovery efforts.
In addition, Nanaimo- North Cowichan MLA Doug Routley has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary of Forests.
