A possible bomb threat led to the lockdown of multiple Fort St John schools this morning.
Just after 5:00 this morning, RCMP were called to a work site just outside the City for reports of an employee acting erratically, and damaging property.
Before police could arrive on scene, the man allegedly stole a work vehicle and fled toward the City.
Officers investigating the incident eventually located the truck, which was parked in a local elementary school parking lot.
Police found a note inside the vehicle indicating that there may be a possible explosive device inside the truck.
Out of caution, the school, and other schools in the area, were locked down while the threat was investigated.
Officers soon determined the threat to be false, and schools were allowed to re-open.
Officers have since apprehended the suspect, and had him transported to hospital for assessment.
