Four individuals were arrested in Fort St John last week after quick police action foiled their break-in attempt.
Just after 4:30 Friday morning, RCMP received reports of a commercial break-in in progress on the 10000 block of 94th Avenue.
Officers responded promptly and were able to catch the suspects in the act of stealing copper wire from the locked compound.
Two of the suspects, a man and a woman, attempted to flee the scene in a pick-up truck, nearly running over an officer in the process.
After the driver refused to cooperate with police commands, they were pepper sprayed through an open window of the vehicle.
A second man and woman were also found on scene and arrested in relation.
One woman was released to appear in court at a later date, but was subsequently arrested on outstanding Alberta warrants.
The other woman was released to appear in court in April, and the two men were held until they could appear in court, with extensive police histories.
