North Shore Rescue were called to the Interior this weekend to help rescue an injured snowmobiler.
South Cariboo Search and Rescue initially received a call of an injured rider on Big Timothy Mountain at around 5:20 in the evening.
Big Timothy Mountain is located roughly 100 kms from 150 Mile House, though it’s remote location makes it a 165 km drive at best.
According to rescue crews, the trip down the mountain and subsequent ambulance ride, would have risked worsening the rider’s injury.
So, the crew decided to call on North Shore Rescue, who were able to bring in a Talon helicoptre to assist in the rescue.
Once they arrived, the injured rider was lifted out and transported to Cariboo Memorial Hospital, with the extent of her injuries unclear.
