With enhanced health orders being lifted yesterday, gyms and fitness centres in the North can now begin phased re-opening along with the rest of the province.
Said facilities had been shut down due to the rapid spread of Omicron in late December.
Some additional restrictions are still in place though: capacity limitations are based on giving 7 square metres between patrons, masks must be worn unless actively working out, and patrons must provide proof of vaccination.
In Terrace, the gym at the Aquatic Centre has re-opened, though patrons must pre-book with no drop-ins, even for members.
Fitness classes at the Sportsplex will resume on Monday, but pre-booking of a full month at a time is required.
In Kitimat, both the Tamatik Jubilee Sports Complex, and Riverlodge Recreation Centre are re-opening.
Pre-booking is required to use the weight, cardio and fitness rooms, as well as the squash courts, and all classes must register in advance.
All indoor events at the Kitimat facilities will remained cancelled, including parties, weddings, and other special events.
At the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre in Prince Rupert, four patrons will now be allowed to use the facility at a time.
Pre-booking is advised, though drop-in spots will be made available if not pre-booked.
All facilities fall under a maximum capacity cap of 25 for all classes.
