Students in Quesnel will have to wait a bit longer than expected to fill the halls of a new Junior Secondary School.
Initially scheduled to open over March Break, the 52 million dollar project has been delayed due largely to the flooding in the South.
Announced in 2019, the project looks to bring a new 550 student facility to the same lot that houses the current Maple Drive Junior Secondary School.
It represented the first major school capital project for the province in Quesnel since 1997.
No new opening date has been provided, but the District says they are hoping to occupy the new facility this year.
