A hazardous material spill has Highway 24 closed in both directions east of Lone Butte.
At around 7:00 last night, a tractor trailer has been travelling along the road when it lost control.
Hazardous and icy conditions caused the truck to enter in to the ditch before rolling over and damaging the tank.
After setting up a safety zone, BC Hazmat crews determined that dangerous chemicals had spilled in to the roads.
One residence was inside the impacted area, though occupants chose to stay despite warnings from emergency crews.
Currently the Highway is closed at Bell Road, with a detour in place, as crews continue to investigate.
