The BC government has decided that they will be offering aid to BC residents that are eligible to get help with their home, property, or business if the floods and/or landslides affected them.
BC’s Public Safety Minister gave a statement saying that this financial assistance for these disasters are exclusive people living in the central, the southwest and the southeastern areas of BC.
The Ministry also said that residential tenants, business owners, homeowners, Indigenous communities, local governments, farmers and charitable organizations that weren’t able to get insurance to cover their losses caused by the disaster, could have up to 80 percent of their costs covered or the maximum of 300 thousand dollars.
Claims for these damages need to be submitted by February 12th of next year.
