While they haven’t been impacted by the closure of the Port of Vancouver yet, the Port of Prince Rupert stands ready to help if need be.
One of Canada’s most critical supply chain gateways, the Port of Prince Rupert remains relatively un-phased by the drastic weather conditions hitting the south.
According to the Prince Rupert Port Authority, they are fully engaged in supporting response to the flooding.
A number of terminals within the port currently have the ability to take on additional cargo, and the Port stands ready to activate its full capacity if called upon to do so.
The Port Authority is engaged in active discussions with shippers and CN to assist in the movement of critical goods and supplies.
