There have recently been two new COVID-19 outbreaks declared by Fraser Health, one of which is at the Heritage Village care home in Chilliwack, as a result of two staff members and one resident testing positive, and the other is at the Queen’s Park Care Centre in New Westminster, where two residents have tested positive.
The Health Authority is currently saying that enhanced infection control measures have been put into place.
Another outbreak was also recently reported by Vancouver Coastal Health at another private care facility called Amica Lions Gate.
As of BC’s latest update, there are currently 15 COVID-19 outbreaks in long term care homes/assisted living facilities as well as 4 outbreaks currently happening in hospitals.
