October 18th Covid-19 Update

British Columbia is reporting 667 new cases of Covid-19, as of Friday night.

That brings the total active number of cases in the province to 5,128, with 152 in ICU.

Of the new cases, 184 come from within Northern Health’s boundaries, while 101 are from the Interior.

There were 13 new deaths reported Friday, with one in the Interior, and none in the North.

The new outbreak at GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel brings the active total to 19, with four in the North.

Over the past two weeks, over 76 percent of positive cases come from those who have not yet been fully vaccinated.
