Today we sport red to show our support for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, but soon you’ll have a new way to hear their stories.
An Indigenous made moving documentary titled Adaawk, meaning an oral history, will debut later this month.
Crafted by residents of Northern BC, the film features courageous stories of grief and loss from family members of those who went missing along the Highway of Tears.
Those featured in the presentation also tell of what the recent raising of a Commemoration Memorial and Healing pole, referred to as Grandmother in the film, means to them.
It will debut between October 21st and 23rd at the ImagineNative Film and Media Arts Festival.
