B-C Hydro has sent out a statement saying that their latest report has found that many BC residents have not been informed correctly about the best way to minimize their carbon footprint.
A survey conducted by the Crown utility has found that in order to cut down on carbon emissions, most people living in BC would install solar panels on their place of residence.
But BC Hydro has said that would just be replacing one green energy source for a different one. Instead, Hydro believes that either buying an electric car or installing an electric pump that is capable of both heating and cooling a home are more efficient ways to reduce carbon emissions.
Hydro also stated that they are working on getting their customers to understand the value of B-C’s water-generated electricity.
