The Health Ministry is reporting 1,005 new cases of COVID-19, with 51 of them in the Northern Health Region.
Health officials are also reporting 425 are currently hospitalized due to the virus, another record-breaking number. 127 of those hospitalized are in intensive care. Sadly, officials are also reporting six new COVID-19 related deaths.
Provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, is encouraging people to continue to keep their social circles small and maintain safety protocols. She says while the risk of infection is smaller in the outdoors, there still remains a risk of contracting the illness.
