A boil water notice has been put into place by the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine for the Thornhill Community Water System.
Lab tests indicate the presence of total coliform bacteria in the drinking water.
If total coliform bacteria are present in the drinking water it may indicate that disease-causing microorganisms may be present. These organisms include bacteria, viruses and parasites that can cause enteric symptoms.
People experiencing, diarrhea, cramps, nausea vomiting or other symptoms should consult a physician. The boil water notice is effective until further notice. The next update is planned to be issued on Friday.
