Businesses hard by the Covid-19 pandemic will be able to apply for some relief through the federal government.
Businesses can apply to a few different benefits. The Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy covers up to 65 per cent of eligible expenses to qualifying businesses, charities and non-profits. The rates are in effect until December 19. Organizations that have been significantly restricted by mandatory public health orders can receive an additional 25 per cent rent support through the lockdown support.
Another subsidy available through the federal government is the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy. Up to 65 per cent of an employee’s wages for qualifying employers will be covered. This rate will be in place until December 19.
