Yesterday, at 5:59 p.m., Williams Lake RCMP were called to a report of a crash. A Nissan Versa had collided with a CN Rail Train at a marked rail crossing. The vehicle that was headed southbound on the Soda Creek Town Site Rd., crossed a stop sign and collided with an eastbound train.
The collision caused the vehicle to roll and the driver was ejected. The driver, who was a Williams Lake Resident did not survive. No train derailment took place as a result of this crash. CN Police have been notified and are assisting with the investigation. The site of the crash had been closed for nearly 4 hours but has since been reopened to traffic.
