The decision comes as B.C. begins phase 3 of its reopening plan.
There hasn’t been a case reported in the Yukon since Apr. 20. Residents travelling to the Yukon from B.C. will no longer need to self-isolate for 14 days but will have to provide documentation at the border or airport to show they are from B.C.
Walt Judas, CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of British Columbia in a statement says, “opening of the BC-Yukon border will help encourage more travel and visitor spend during the most challenging year for the tourism industry on record.”
