As gas prices around B.C. continue to be an issue the Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Bruce Ralston has released a statement on the B.C. Utilities Commission (BCUC) expanding fuel price transparency.
More reporting and expanded fuel price data collection will be taking place from Jun. 1 to Sept. 30 and will be made public at regular intervals on GasPricesBC.ca.
Ralston says, “We will remain diligent as we watch the market and keep the industry accountable.” He goes on to say, “For years, British Columbians have felt they are getting gouged when they fill up at the pump. That’s why our government asked the BCUC to do an investigation into gasoline prices.”
The gathering and sharing of additional data is a result of public feedback as the BCUC has heard from many individuals seeking more specific retail pricing.
