The Government of Canada is taking further action to support Indigenous businesses as well as the Indigenous Tourism Industry.
Many of the 30,000 Indigenous businesses in Canada are small to medium size and operate in sectors particularly hard-hit by the pandemic.
Marc Miller, Minister of Indigenous Services announced a total of $133 million in new funding to support Indigenous business. Of that number, $117 million will reach more community owned First Nation, Inuit and Metis businesses.
Of the funding $16 million will support the Indigenous tourism industry. Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada will administer the funds to businesses across the country.
