Wind gusts of up to 100 km/h expected to hit the North Coast, Haida Gwaii

Wind warnings are in effect for the B.C. North Coast and Haida Gwaii as a frontal system is expected to bring blustery conditions.

Southeast winds of 80 to 100 km/h are expected to develop Wednesday night before easing up.

For Haida Gwaii, wind will veer to the southwest before diminishing Thursday.

Environment Canada says high wind may toss loose objects or break tree branches.
