Lee Ongman, Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Northern British Columbia, reported that Dr. Daniel Weeks has announced his decision to end his second term as President earlier than anticipated. This announcement comes after a special board meeting early this evening.
Dr. Weeks is set to transition to a research leave. He will also serve in an advisory capacity to support the transition to a new president. He also looks forward to returning to his teaching and research program through a faculty role. The board chair thanks Dr. Weeks for his service.
Ongman also announced that the Board of Governors has appointed Dr. Geoffrey Payne as Interim President.
