The B.C. provincial government confirmed their ongoing commitment to the Mills Memorial Hospital replacement project in Terrace. Over the next three years, $6.4 billion will go to support major construction projects and upgrades to health facilities in the province.
Regional District of Kitimat Stikine Board Chair Phil Germuth says, “We appreciate and thank the Premier for his continued commitment. He’s kept his promise to our residents and supported the efforts of Northwest Regional Hospital District and Northern Health staff to guide the Mills Memorial replacement project to completion.”
The Mills Memorial Hospital will become the Northwest region’s level-three trauma and inpatient surgery centre. It will also be a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program. Construction is expected to be completed for late 2024.
