If you’re wondering why the Internet might be slow, a rockslide would be the cause.
Beginning a little more than a week ago Internet slowdowns began to occur for CityWest users. The rockslide occurred near North Bend B.C. and about 400 metres of fibre was damaged. The area is remote and the only way in and out is by train leading to a lengthier than usual repair time.
The estimated time for this to be repaired is Wednesday. Comments on the CityWest Facebook page have been mixed but one glairing concern is the reimbursement for a week long Internet slowdown. CityWest has directed some people to their support line or email. Otherwise the company has offered a free two month upgrade to any Internet package which is available in their area.
