Teachers at the University of Northern British Columbia in Terrace began strike action as of 7 a.m. today.
Classes have been cancelled after negotiations broke down.
Wages and work conditions have been seen as key issues in these talks.
Ed Harrison, Bachelor of education coordinator at Terrace UNBC campus says negotiations should remain respectful.
Harrison is concerned about the students and says that any classes missed are important.
