Fraser Lake residents may not have to travel to do their banking much longer.
Integris Credit Union has announced that it’s expanding into Dakelh territory by opening a new branch in the village.
“Following an extensive business case and financial viability analysis, the Integris Board is satisfied that we are in a position to succeed in providing financial solutions to the residents and businesses of Fraser Lake, Stellako and Nadleh,” says Cheryl Wallace – Chair of the Board of Directors of Integris, in a news release.
Fraser Lake has been without a bank since CIBC closed up its operation in mid-September.
“Our community residents, surrounding area and local businesses were devastated when CIBC announced its closure,” says Sarrah Storey, Mayor of Fraser Lake in a news release. “Integris was our first choice and our first call for help – we are pleased to announce that help has arrived!”
Integris expects to open its Fraser Lake branch in early 2020.
