Bruce Ralston, B.C’s minister of jobs, trade and technology has released his statement on the release of Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey for September.
He says that the job market is resilient and that he expects stable growth moving forward. In the past year over 33,400 jobs were created and the industries that saw the best performance were agriculture, business, buildings, support as well as educational services.
The average hourly wages are at $28.10, that’s a 5.1% increase from a year ago, the unemployment rate is currently 4.8%.
