About 200 logging trucks are expected to weave their way through downtown Vancouver Wednesday.
The convoy is heading south to bring attention to the job losses in the forestry sector due to mill closures and curtailments.
Forest sector workers from Houston, Burns Lake, Quesnel, Williams Lake, and other communities will take their message to the annual Union of BC Municipalities Convention.
Rally co-organizer Howard McKimmon of Merritt says the goal is to highlight the plight of forestry workers in small-town B.C. and the impact it’s having on their communities.
RCMP are expected to provide an escort for the convoy and will hand the trucks off to Vancouver police once they reach the city.
