The B.C. wildfire service has plans to burn wood debris on the southern shore of Quesnel Lake.
Officials say the work is part of a project to help reduce wildfire risks.
Crews will remove trees deemed a hazard, pile up the wood material and burn it to reduce the amount of fuel available if a wildfire were to occur in the area.
The pile burning could begin on September 16th and continue periodically until October 31st.
Burning will only occur on days when the weather is favourable.
