Quesnel RCMP used a spike belt to catch up with two suspects in a car Saturday.
The vehicle had fled from Williams Lake Mounties Friday, but when police spotted it coming down Dragon Lake Hill the next morning, the driver fled at a high rate of speed and officers did not pursue.
When the vehicle was spotted down a dead-end road, officers set up the spike belt and the vehicle ended up hitting a cement curb before collided with a police vehicle.
The male driver fled on foot but was arrested a short time later with a bag of property police believe is stolen.
RCMP arrested a female passenger without incident .
Both were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
