Christopher Auchter’s first documentary with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) will have a major debut.
The Haida director’s short film Now Is The Time has been selected at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2019).
The doc follows renowned carver Robert Davidson and the 1969 carving and raising of the first totem pole in Old Massett in nearly a century.
The 50th anniversary of the totem pole’s raising will be August 22, 2019.
The film will also be broadcast on the Knowledge Network with a screening on Haida Gwaii this fall.
