A car thief led Prince George RCMP on a brief chase before spending most of yesterday behind bars.
Initially, police received reports of a vehicle being stolen from the 14th Avenue area on Tuesday evening.
It had been left with the window rolled down and the keys inside.
By the time police could respond to the scene, the thief was long gone, but sitings of the stolen vehicle began to filter in the next day.
Reports led officers to the 500 block of Central Street West, but the suspect was once again able to avoid capture.
He would not be so lucky a third time, however, as police were once again able to track the vehicle down yesterday morning.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near an alleyway off the 4300 block of 1st Avenue, but the driver again took off.
This time, 41 year-old Leonard Earl Prince was surrounded by police and arrested after he attempted to flee on foot.
He will face 4 charges relating to the incident in court.
