A Prince George man has been declared dead despite revival efforts by RCMP, paramedics, and members of the public.
Just before 4:00 yesterday afternoon, police received reports of an adult male who had gone under while swimming in West Lake.
Bystanders were able to locate the mand and pull him from the water, though he was unresponsive.
Once RCMP arrived on scene, they took over CPR efforts from a member of the public until paramedics could arrive.
Efforts by all three to revive the man failed and the man was later declared deceased.
Police would like to thank community members who hopped in to action to locate the man and attempt CPR before they could arrive.
There are no indications of foul play at this time, and the BC Coroners’ Service has taken over the investigation.
